Perioperative Theatre Technology(PTT) is a program that develops individual competencies for one to provide services in an operation theatre set –up in a hospital. It equips trainees with the required knowledge on how to provide support tom patients in recovery. We offer this program at Sacred Heart Campus

Skills Acquired in Perioperative Theatre Technology include:-

• Ability to prevent nosocomial infections.
• Ability to provide technical services to the theatre team.
• Professional handling of theatre instruments.
• Participating in the provision of clinical services in the operation theatre.

1. Diploma in Perioperative Theatre Technology
   This course equips individuals with knowledge and skills on how to prepare the operating room for surgery, sterilize the equipment, Care of clients in operating theatre room as well as testing and maintain theatre equipment and execute administrative and managerial responsibilities in a hospital with an operation theatre. Requiremnets: KCSE C- and Above
   Duration: 2½ Years
   Intake: Jan and Sept
2. Certificate in Perioperative Theatre Technology
   This course equips individuals with knowledge and skills on how to prepare the operating room for surgery, sterilize the equipment. Care of clients in operating theatre room as well as testing and maintain theatre equipment. Requiremnets: KCSE D and Above
