Sister Leonella Consolata Medical College is an accredited TVETA and NCK Faith Based institution under the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri. The institution is situated in the Central region of Kenya, Nyeri County along Nyeri/Ihururu road about 7 kilometres from Nyeri town.
History
The institution was started in 1946 as Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing to (K.E.C.H.N) by the Consolata Missionaries. It was then upgraded to Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (K.R.C.H.N).
The college is accredited by the Nursing Council of Kenya to train Kenya Registered Community Health Nurses (KRCHN) and Kenya Registered Nurse & Midwives (KRNM) for a 3 years course leading to the award of Diploma. It was initially accredited in 1938. The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVET) assessed our School of Nursing on 8th March 2016 and approved its registration under Section 20(1) of the TVET Act, 2013 for a maximum of 250 trainees to offer Comptenced Based Courses currently regulated by the TVETCDACC.

PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT
“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being; not merely absence of disease or infirmity”, (WHO, 1948). Having this in mind, Sister Leonella Consolata Medical College wishes to prepare Christian servant leaders in the field of heath to serve worldwide.The institution aims at training a health care leaders in accordance with the acceptable standards that are stipulated by the healthcare education professional regulatory bodie which will be achieved by integrated theoretical and clinical experience.Our college courses which prepare competent, accountable and creative Nurse who can function both in the Community or in the health facility.The institution believes that during training, the health care professinal will continually carry out his/her religious values using Medical Ethics. He/she will hold human dignity to the highest esteem and selflessly give pastoral care to the sick and the dying alike.
