Sister Leonella Consolata Medical College (SLCMC) joins the Kenya Paediatric Association in congratulating Prof. Grace Irimu, a member of our Board and Chairperson of the Standards, Academic and Ethics Committee. She has secured the 2026-2027 Hillman Medical Education Fund through Rose Charities, Canada.

The funding will support the University of Nairobi Department of Paediatrics and Child Health in promoting academic excellence and professional development. It will be used for:

• Student and Professional Awards, recognising and encouraging excellence among learners and practitioners.
• The ETAT+ Instructors Course, which builds the pool of trained instructors in emergency triage, assessment and treatment.
• Training initiatives that strengthen Maternal, Newborn and Child Health.

Together, these programmes are expected to strengthen paediatric and child health education and practice in Kenya.

At SLCMC, Prof. Irimu serves on the Board and chairs the Standards, Academic and Ethics Committee. In that role she helps safeguard the quality and integrity of our academic programmes and the ethical values that guide the formation of our students. As a Catholic faith-based institution in the Archdiocese of Nyeri, we are committed to training competent, compassionate healthcare professionals.
